Kwazulu-Natal — A 37-year-old woman was rescued from the mountains in the Northern Drakensberg, KwaZulu-Natal, after slipping and falling while on a hike to the Tugela Falls.
According to ER24, the Emergency Medical and Ambulance Services were activated by Mountain Rescue Services and arrived at the Royal Natal National Park at around 08:30 on Saturday.
“The woman had a suspected femur fracture after slipping in the wet conditions,” an ER24 statement read.
She was airlifted from the mountain by a rescue helicopter to the waiting ambulances at the National Park.
A secondary assessment revealed that the patient was suffering from a dislocated ankle.
