Cape Town – A 78-year-old woman in Tubatse near Burgersfort in Limpoo died on Monday after being attacked by her four dogs.
The incident occurred on Friday when the dogs initially attempted to attack a visitor.
“The dogs were apparently intending to attack a visitor when this unfortunate incident took place. The woman was at her home with her daughter when they had a visitor and the dogs tried to attack him.
“The woman interjected, trying to protect the man, but her dogs turned on her and bit her,” said police spokesperson Captain Malesela Ledwaba.
She was taken to the hospital on Monday for medical treatment but succumbed to her injuries.
The police have opened a case of inquest to investigate the incident further.
