Pretoria – A 23-year-old woman was arrested at the OR Tambo International Airport on Saturday after attempting to smuggle cocaine worth an estimated R1.4 million into South Africa.
According to South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Robert Netshiunda, Intelligence information was gathered about the suspect who boarded a flight from Brazil to South Africa via Doha.
Upon acting on the information, police found 3.6kg of cocaine valued at around R1.4 million.
The Lieutenant said the suspect will appear before the Kempton Park Magistrate’s on drug trafficking charges.
