Cape Town – A 21-year-old Free State woman was allegedly gang-raped by a group of ten men, including her boyfriend, inside her rented room in Meloding.
Police said in a statement that the men entered the woman’s room carrying knives on the evening of January 28 and took turns raping her.
They returned again the next day and sexually assault her.
“They took turns in raping her and the same suspects came the following day on January 29 at 20:00,” said Captain Stephen Thakeng.

Members of Welkom Public Order Policing Reaction Team and Crime Intelligence followed up information during a tracing operation which led to the three arrests.
Three of the alleged suspects aged 25, 29 and 30 were arrested, while the remaining seven other suspects were still at large.
Captain Stephen Thakeng said a case of rape was registered for further investigation by Lejweleputswa District FCS.
A manhunt continues for the other seven remaining suspects.
