Buffelsdraai – Outraged community members apprehended a 58-year-old man after his wife discovered him raping their neighbour in her home in an informal area in Buffelsdraai, KZN on Sunday afternoon.
Community members contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) officers requesting their assistance.
According to community members, the suspect’s wife was conducting a wellness check on her neighbor when she discovered her husband allegedly having sexual intercourse with her.
“The woman asked her husband to stop but he allegedly continued. She thereafter sought assistance from neighbours,” RUSA said in a statement.

After returning to the scene with members of the community, her husband was to be still having sexual intercourse with the woman and fled when he noticed the crowd approaching. However, he was apprehended by community members.
“RUSA Medics proceeded to the victim’s residence and found her asleep. When she woke up, she informed RUSA members that she had no recollection of the incident and was still under the influence of alcohol after a night of heavy drinking.”
The suspect and victim were reportedly handed over to the police for further investigation.
