Cape Town – KwaZulu-Natal police are reportedly searching for a suspect who allegedly bludgeoned his 26-year-old wife to death with a hammer.
Reports alleged that the bloody incident happened in Emmaus, Mhlathizi village in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal last week.
The suspect who is reportedly on the run allegedly continues to threaten the family of the deceased.
According to KwaZulu-Natal Social Development, Zubuyile Ngubeni was assaulted with a two-pound (0.9kg) hammer by her husband last week on Tuesday, reported IOL.
The report said that Social Development MEC, Nonhlanhla Khoza has since called for law enforcement agencies to work around the clock to find the “heartless killer”.

“It is alleged that the man fled the scene after killing his wife. However, he continues to threaten her family members through phone calls. The motive for the murder has not yet been established. The deceased is survived by her young children,” the department was quoted saying.
Ngubeni was buried on Sunday while the Bergville police investigate a case of murder, reported News24.
“Police are still searching for the suspect who fled the scene after the incident.” the report quoted police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala.
