Cape Town – The wife of a Cape Town veterinarian who was fatally stabbed in March is seeking justice for her husband’s murder.
The Western Cape police on Monday arrested a 38-year-old man for the killing of Dr Natheem Jacobs, a vet at Grassy Park’s Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
Jacobs was stabbed multiple times when he confronted a group of suspects trying to steal his wife, Iman Levy’s car wheels.
Levy expressed mixed emotions upon hearing about the arrest, feeling anger and happiness, News24 reported.
She had doubted that anyone would be apprehended in the case.
“I tried to put my faith in the justice system but with past incidents of other people’s murder cases going unsolved and there being no results in apprehending suspects, it was hard to trust that police would eventually make an arrest.

“There were days where I sat and thought that no one would be arrested and that my husband’s murder would be just another cold case.
“When I saw the suspect’s picture in the media on Monday, I felt so angry because he was smiling in the photo and yet I am left to rearrange my entire life without Natheem,” the report quoted Levy as saying.
Levy described her husband as a passionate animal lover and dedicated professional, highlighting his commitment to his job and the SPCA’s loss of an animal hero.
Recalling the night of the incident, Levy explained that Jacobs confronted the thieves with a baseball bat, and she panicked upon hearing his cries of pain.
Jacobs died before reaching the hospital, leaving his wife in shock.
The suspect will face a murder charge in court, and Levy hopes for justice to be served.
