Cape Town – A 12-year-old boy, Bokang Pitso, left his family and the community in shock when he took his life after he was allegedly bullied at school in Mahikeng in the North West.
According to The Citizen, Pitso, who was a pupil at Kingsway Christian School, committed suicide last week on Friday following an alleged altercation with fellow pupils and a teacher at school.
He was buried on Saturday, March 19.
“Bokang Pitso allegedly got into a fight with two fellow pupils last week. A teacher then took him to a staffroom and beat him, reportedly in the presence of other teachers,” the report said.
Speaking during his funeral, Pitso’s aunt Habi said she never thought her nephew “would decide that life is too hard. We thought he was strong but he wasn’t”.
