Cape Town – The kidnappers of Ukrainian national, Anichka Penev have reportedly demanded a ransom of R5 million to facilitate her return.
The 35-year-old woman was abducted in Ipswich Road, Blue Downs on Thursday morning.
According to IOL, the R5 million ransom was demanded from her husband, Simeon, an hour after she was abducted.
Meanwhile, News24 reported that a relative of Penev has urged the media to stop speculation, as it is “hurtful and very dangerous”.
The relative said that the family feared the kidnappers were following media reports.
