Cape Town – Zulu King, Misuzulu kaZwelithini took his vow to lead the AmaZulu nation during the ceremony at which President Cyril Ramaphosa officially presented him with the Certificate of Recognition.
The certificate confirmed that the King has the powers to govern His Majesty’s area of jurisdiction in terms of custom, customary and applicable laws, the presidency said.
Ramaphosa handed over the certificate to His Majesty on behalf of the government at a ceremony held at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday.
His Majesty was officially sworn in by Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, in view of the applauding crowd that included royal families from across the African continent and the world at large.

King Misuzulu reiterated his promises made in August when he ascended the throne, following a coronation ceremony attended by thousands of people at the at KwaKhangelamankengane Royal Palace in Nongoma.
“I promised to work for you, I uttered those words in full confidence knowing that I have the full support and that this journey I walk on is not alone but I walk this journey with you and the rest of the world.
“It is my daily prayer that I be a catalyst in the development of the Zulu, South Africa, and the whole of united Africa,”
Former President Jacob Zuma, King Swati III of eSwatini, newly-elected Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Samuel Ntsokoane Matekane and political leaders were among royal families from across the African continent and other dignitaries who attended the ceremony.
