Cape Town – Police are reportedly investigating after four armed men hijacked a woman at a retail store parking area on Monday.
A video of the incident that occurred on Tara Road, Bluff in Durban has been circulating on social media.
In the CCTV footage, a woman is seen getting out of a white car before the suspects pounce on her.
“A short while ago a hijacking occurred, which a White Golf 7 GTI ND528442 was taken outside Oxford Freshmarket Tara Rd by 3 BM’s all armed using another white VW,” tweeted Vehicle Trackers.

Oxford Freshmarket confirmed the incident in a statement on their Facebook page.
“It has come to our attention that there is concern that our store was robbed this morning. This is not the case. There was, however, a very unfortunate hijacking incident this morning outside our store. The victim and all those around are safe and unharmed,” said the store.
The statement said the store was assisting with the incident.
News24 reported that KwaZulu-Natal police were investigating a case of carjacking,
“A 42-year-old woman was at the parking lot at a business premises when four armed males accosted her at gunpoint. The suspects took the vehicle and drove off in an unknown direction,” the report quoted police spokesperson, Constable Thenjiwe Ngocbo said.
