Cape Town – In a bizarre incident, a taxi driver was left confused after a Durban pupil allegedly paid him with her g-string instead of a fare.
The driver said this was done by a pupil in eThekwini.
The incident was shared on Facebook by Ukhozi FM’s Ayanda Msweli.
“A driver from Makhutha is still shocked after he was paid for with a panty, a g-string, instead of money. This act was done by a pupil in eThekwini,” Msweli captioned the video shared by the taxi driver.
In the video, the taxi driver explains his shock by the pupil’s act.
“Guys, here’s a panty I was paid with by my sister on Field (Street), when getting off the vehicle. What hurts is that it’s a pupil. I don’t know what she thinks of me. I really don’t know. I was left confused.”
The g-string was placed between the driver and the passenger’s seat in what appeared to be a Quantum taxi.
According to the South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) provincial officer manager Sifiso Shangase, there could be many reasons behind the alleged g-string payment, reported IOL.
“Maybe the pupil knows the driver as a ladies man and was trying to send a message or because pupils sometimes carry extra clothes, maybe it somehow fell out and they didn’t notice. It could have been left there by mistake.
“However, it is really unclear. Did she not pay cash or did she literally paid with the panty?,” the report quoted Shangase as saying.
Meanwhile, Facebook users applauded the driver’s respectful manner, while some encouraged men to speak as in some cases men got arrested for rape they didn’t commit.
