Cape Town – A petrol tanker caught fire on the N2 northbound near Durban on Sunday, resulting in a truck driver sustaining minor injuries.
ALS Paramedics responded to the incident just after 1 pm near Spaghetti Junction, Chesterville.
“On arrival, paramedics found multiple fire engines on the scene tackling the blaze. ALS Paramedics were shown to the driver who had sustained minor injuries. He was stabilised on the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital,” the paramedics said.

The injured driver was stabilized and transported to a nearby hospital.
The cause of the fire is unknown and will be investigated by the Durban Fire Department and SAPS.
Emergency services closed the route for handling the situation, and motorists were advised to use alternative routes by Durban metro police.
