Cape Town – Convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester has filed a court application requesting access to a laptop to prepare for his upcoming deportation case.
The case will be heard in the Pretoria High Court on Tuesday.
Bester, who escaped from Mangaung Correctional Centre in May 2022, fled to Tanzania with his girlfriend, Nandipha Magudumana.
Both were arrested and deported back to South Africa.
Bester, Magudumana, and several prison officers accused of aiding his escape are set to stand trial on February 10 next year.
