Cape Town – A rare Southern two-headed brown egg-eater snake that was discovered in Ndwedwe, KwaZulu-Natal last week on Tuesday is reportedly on display at Dangerous Creatures exhibit hall in the Village at uShaka Marine World.
The two-headed brown egg-eater, now named Jean-Claude van Egg-eater was discovered by a man in Ndwendwe in his backyard.
The man placed Jean-Claude in a bottle before calling snake rescuer Nick Evans to have it removed.

On Wednesday, South African Association for Marine Biological Research (Saambr) shared a video of Jean-Claude on their Facebook page announcing that they found a permanent home at uShaka Marine World.

According to IOL, Nick brought Jean-Claude to Saambr because they virtually had no chance of surviving on their own.
“We have not yet offered Jean-Claude any food as these snakes do not generally eat over winter. And interestingly, these southern brown egg-eaters only need to eat three or four times a year. We are sourcing finch eggs which we will offer to both Jean and Claude,” Saambr’s Ann Kunz said as quoted by the report.
Southern brown egg-eaters who feed exclusively on eggs are found throughout Mpumalanga, Limpopo, parts of the Eastern Free State, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape, said the report,
