Cape Town β A biker was seriously injured in an accident that took place on Wednesday morning in Pinetown in Kwa-Zulu Natal (KZN).
Paramedics were alerted to the incident, which was described as a “serious bike crash” on the corner of St Johns Ave and Payne Street. ALS paramedic, Garrith Jamieson, said they were surprised to find the bike still atop the vehicle, The Citizen reported.
“The rider a male in his thirties had sustained serious injuries and Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise him on the scene before he was transported to a nearby Hospital for the further care that he required,” Jamieson said.
“At this stage the events leading up to the crash are unknown however SAPS and Metro Police were in attendance and will be investigating further,” he added.
Footage shared on social media showed the biker, trying to get out of morning traffic, driving around the cars and moving to the lane on the opposite side of the road, when it slammed into a VW Polo that was making a left turn. The driver of the Polo was uninjured.

According to IOL, ALS had responded to another incident on Tuesday afternoon after two people were injured after a vehicle crash through a fast food restaurant on Merebank.
βThe lady believed to be in her thirties was stabilized on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being rushed to Ahmed Al Khadi Private Hospital for the urgent care that she required,” Jamieson said.
He said the second victim had sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby facility.
