Cape Town – Passengers travelling in a Greyhound bus stood on the side of the road as the luxury bus went up in flames in Vereeniging, Gauteng.
The bus carrying 25 passengers was reportedly travelling from Johannesburg to Durban before it exploded.
Reports indicated that the bus experienced an engine explosion but no injuries were reported.
A video of the incident was shared on social media by Vehicle Trackerz.
The video shows shocked passengers standing on the side of the road with their luggage and looking at as the burning bus.

The luxurious coach was on its way to Durban from Johannesburg when the incident happened.

Greyhound apologised to its customers following the accident and said that investigations were under way.
“At this point, the company would like to apologise to passengers on board for the inconvenience as a result of the incident. However, we have to allow for the investigations to conclude as to what the actual cause of the incident was. For further information, passengers can contact our call centre for assistance,” kaya959 quoted Greyhound as saying.
