Cape Town – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema said this week that his party was disappointed with how the murder case of Hillary Gardee was handled by the police.
Malema said this during a media briefing.
“If you were to say to me ‘do you have confidence in the police?’ the first answer is ‘no’ but there’s is nothing I can do when a crime is committed against me whether I trust them or I don’t trust them I must go and open a case. Look at Godrich’s daughter’s case, we are the ones who are giving police information. The police are just messing it up,” said Malema.

Malema’s remarks came after the case was on Thursday postponed to July 22, 2022, by the Nelspruit Magistrates Court for further investigations, Times Live reported.
State prosecutor advocate Ntsika Mpolweni told the court that the DNA results, ballistics and cellphone records were still outstanding.
The bail application of one of the men charged with the murder of Hillary Gardee, Sipho Lawrence Mkatshwa was also postponed to July 7, 2022.
Hillary went missing on April 29 after a shopping trip to a Spar near her home in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.
She was found dead in a field outside Mbombela, Mpumalanga on May 3 with a gun wound on her head.
Sipho Lawrence Mkatshwa, Philemon Lukhele and Mduzuzi Gama were arrested and charged with murder, rape, conspiracy to commit murder, kidnapping and possession of illegal firearms.
Hillary was the daughter of former EFF secretary-general Godrich Gardee.
