Cape Town — Pastor Mboro’s Incredible Happenings Church was burned down after he was arrested on Tuesday morning for an incident at Matshidiso Primary School in Katlehong.
Mboro and three other suspects were arrested on charges of assault, handling a firearm restlessly, malicious damage to property and intimidation. Following his arrest, angry youths in the Katlehong area, who were upset at the Pastor’s actions at the school, responded by setting his church alight, TimesLIVE reported.
Some residents reported earlier that Mboro’s behaviour had traumatised the children, while others had praised him for the work he did for the community, such as buying clothes and shoes for schoolchildren.
Mboro’s church, a marquee tent, was sent into flames just minutes after being set alight.
The Citizen reported that the church, situated a short distance away from the Katlehong police station, was reduced to ashes within 30 minutes, with chairs and other furniture spread across the floor.
Meanwhile, Mboro and the three suspects are set to appear in court on Wednesday, EWN reported.

As reported by Newzroom Afrika, Ekurhuleni District Commissioner, Anna Sithole, explained that police established a team of investigators and through the video footage, they managed to arrest the suspects.
She said the school kids had gone to the police station as they were not happy with the suspects the police had arrested, and demanded that they be released.
“While the commander was explaining to them the processes, another group came along and they burned the church,” she said.
She confirmed that four suspects were arrested but more arrests could not be ruled out.
