Cape Town – One person was reportedly killed in another fiery truck crash on Monday on the R34 near Ulundi in northern KwaZulu-Natal hours after another multi-truck accident left two injured.
According to Road Traffic Inspectorate spokesperson Zinhle Mngomezulu, a truck had brake failure which led to four trucks, one bakkie and a minibus being involved in the accident, reported IOL.
One person died and no injuries were reported, said Mngomezulu.

In the earlier crash, a truck plunged into an accident scene, causing an explosion that injured two people.
“There was an initial crash involving a truck that had overturned. A second crash occurred when a truck crashed into this scene. Two people were injured but amazingly no fatalities,” a statement by Arrive Alive said.
Both accidents came shortly after the Pongolo crash that claimed 21 lives over the weekend.
Reports said that 19 of the deceased included children between the ages of 5 and 12 years.
According to News24, Transport MEC Sipho Hlomuka said the driver’s behaviour was unacceptable.
“It is clear that the truck driver violated all the laws in the book. This is the kind of behaviour that is causing fatal crashes and it is unacceptable. The driver must face the music and we will be monitoring developments in this case,” the report quoted Hlomuka as saying.
