Cape Town – Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has criticised former Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng’s recent comments, saying that he seems to want to rule from the grave.
Mogoeng had, on Thursday, suggested that President Cyril Ramaphosa should have disclosed the donors for his CR17 campaign funding to avoid conflicts of interest.
“The president had the duty to know, who was funding his campaign and to disclose that personal benefit compositely as a benefit from the CR17 campaign,” Mogoeng said while speaking at the inaugural SAfm public lecture.

Ntshavheni expressed disappointment in Mogoeng’s remarks, saying that he had a minority judgment on the matter and accused him of attempting to influence from beyond the grave.
“They (Mogoeng’s remarks) are unfortunate because he had a minority judgment on that and it’s unfortunate that he wants to rule from the grave and express a view from the grave,” the minister said.
She added: “It is unfortunate that he wants to rule and express his views from the grave.”
