Cape Town – Africa National Congress (ANC) secretary-general, Fikile Mbalula has been trolled for poor planning after his address was interrupted by load shedding at the University of Johannesburg.
Mbalula was reportedly speaking at the party’s emergency dialogue and attempted to respond to the Democratic Alliance (DA)’s march to Luthuli House this week.
Hundreds of people took to the streets in Johannesburg on Wednesday to protest a prolonged energy crisis causing record power cuts in South Africa.
The demonstrators gathered in the centre of the financial capital of Africa’s most industrialised nation to march on the headquarters of the ruling African National Congress (ANC) party.

During his speech, Mbalula said they engaged with ideas and sometimes that was not a nice debate because they took it to the streets.
According to IOL, Mbalula said he would not come out to accept a memorandum from the DA leader at the federal party’s march to Luthuli House.
He said that there was a lot of positive energy coming from the dialogue to resolve load shedding, the report said.
However, social media users bashed Mbalula for his lack of planning, saying that at this stage, everyone knew to plan their events according to the load shedding schedule.
Some thought it was time for the ruling party to be removed for the sake of the survival of the country.
Here are some reactions on Twitter
@MbalulaFikile U want us to take u guys seriously, but you can’t even plan an event. We all look at our load shedding schedules and plan accordingly. ….

If the ANC was a primary school child, it would always be in detention and wouldn’t bother doing it’s homework when it bothers to come to school, and steal everyone’s lunch money, right or wrong?
