Cape Town – Upon expressing his dissatisfaction with the deteriorating road conditions on Facebook, Jagersfontein resident Kalebe Kalebe was reportedly taken aback when the mayor unexpectedly arrived at his residence, issuing threats in the presence of his children.
According to The Citizen, the actions of Xolani Tseletsele, the ANC Mayor of Kopanong Local Municipality, left the father of two feeling humiliated and undermined.
A video clip captured the confrontation, with the mayor swearing at Kalebe.

Kalebe later laid charges against the mayor at Trompsburg police, the report said.
The incident has sparked condemnation from residents, highlighting issues such as pothole-infested roads and the lack of progress in rebuilding the area after a mine dam wall burst the previous year.
Despite promises from government leaders, including Deputy President Paul Mashatile, to aid residents, there has been little improvement.
Residents criticised the mayor and officials for prioritising politics over community welfare.
Following the incident, the EFF has issued a statement, saying that the “incompetent mayor treats his mayoral duties like a art-time hobby…”
