Cape Town – The High Court in Johannesburg is on Friday hearing an urgent application from the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party challenging the Judicial Services Commission (JSC).
The MK Party seeks a ruling declaring the JSC’s refusal to postpone its interviews as unconstitutional and aims to prevent the commission from proceeding without its Parliamentary leader, John Hlophe.

This follows separate interdict applications from the Democratic Alliance (DA) and Corruption Watch against Hlophe’s role in the JSC.
The DA argues that the refusal to delay the process contradicts the Constitution.
However, the JSC maintains that Hlophe’s designation remains valid despite being temporarily interdicted.
