Lani was caught disguised in a hoodie, wearing a surgical mask and a stethoscope around his neck.
Lani was caught entering the facility in disguise, wearing a hoodie, a surgical mask, and a stethoscope around his neck, the department said in a statement on Sunday.
“He was apprehended while entering the main entrance of the facility. Lani was caught just before 8pm disguised in a hoodie and wearing a surgical mask with a stethoscope around his neck. He had previously entered the same facility to curate misleading content under the pretense that he was a qualified doctor,” said department spokesperson Motalatale Modiba.
In the video, a hospital official is heard informing a man who appears to be Lani that he had gained access to a theater and a changing room within the hospital, to which he acknowledges with a nod.
“I am very sorry for that, mam. Like, I honestly did not mean harm. I truly didn’t,” he responds.
Lani acknowledges entering restricted areas in the hospital but denies impersonation, claiming he had changed his name.
“At the end of the day, you guys have already pressed charges. I am really sorry”.
“I am not doing anything. I have never seen patients,” he says.

He pleads not to press charges, but the hospital authorities accuse him of curating misleading content under the pretence of being a qualified doctor.
When attempting to escape through a bathroom window, security personnel called for reinforcements, leading to his formal arrest.
Lani gained fame on social media platforms like TikTok by offering medical advice, but his credentials were questioned, leading to legal action against him.
