Cape Town – An Egyptian national businessman was reportedly gunned down in what has been described as a well-planned hit at his Crosby home in Johannesburg.
Mostafa Mahklouf was reportedly shot multiple times while reversing out of his home on Wednesday.
A video of the incident showing the shooter lurking behind the gate circulated on social media.
In the video, the victim can be seen reversing the vehicle towards the gate while a man can be seen standing behind the wall close to the gate of Mahklouf’s home.
As Mahklouf drives forward, the man who is standing behind the wall walks into the yard, straight to the driver’s side and shoots at Mahklouf through the window.
The shooter then runs out of the yard.
The family of the Egyptian businessman has ruled out hijacking or robbery and claims the shooting was a well-orchestrated hit, reported News24.
According to the Egyptian national’s brother-in-law, Adill Ibrahim, Mahklouf was shot six times. He also alleged that the killer didn’t act alone, the report said.
“It was a hit. It was not a hijacking or robbery.”
“He was with some people. He was hired by someone to kill my brother,” the report quoted Ibrahim as saying.
The report said information received by the family indicated that the killer spent hours walking up and down the deceased’s street.
