Cape Town – EFF leader Julius Malema called on the Islamic militant group Hamas to “shoot to kill” Israeli soldiers during a march to the Israeli embassy in Pretoria on Monday.
He expressed support for Hamas, saying that the war in Palestine was not a holy war but an evil war, and that when people are oppressed, they have no choice but to fight.
“Confront the enemy, shoot to kill, do not kiss the enemy. Why do you want to kiss the enemy? Why do you want to kiss the enemy, people came and took the land of the Palestinians,” Malema said.

He also said that if the EFF takes over the government, they would arm Hamas and remove the Israeli embassy from South Africa.
He called for a boycott of products from Israel, including pressuring fast-food franchise McDonald’s and retailer Woolworths to take action regarding their ties to Israel. Malema clarified that the call for action did not target Jewish people.
