Cape Town – Firefighters from Johannesburg EMS successfully extinguished a fire at the Broadwalk Urban Village complex in Midrand, which affected around 130 apartments.
Several residents were injured while fleeing the fire and were taken to nearby healthcare facilities.
City of Johannesburg EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi stated that firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the fire on Tuesday evening.
“The blaze, which originated on the second floor, affected approximately 130 apartments,” said Mulaudzi.
A fire has broken out at the Urban Village residential complex, located near Boardwalk Street in Midrand. Emergency services are currently on the scene, responding to the incident.

No fatalities were reported, and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
The complex owners have provided alternative accommodations for displaced residents.
