Cape Town – Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, daughter of former president Jacob Zuma, has responded to Jabulani Khumalo’s claim of continued membership in the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party, of which he is a co-founder and former leader.
Following weeks of conjecture, the MK party officially announced on Friday the expulsion of Khumalo and four associates for allegedly “attempting to destabilise the party”.
Widely perceived as a “purge,” the move raised suspicions of orchestration by Zuma, The Citizen reported.
Subsequent reports suggested that the party purportedly used publicly available information and falsified signatures to meet the criteria for participating in elections.
Nevertheless, Khumalo maintained that he remained a member of the party until formally notified otherwise in a meeting.
However, Zuma-Sambudla refuted this, saying no meeting was scheduled. She also dismissed any reconciliation.
“Just checked President Jacob Zuma’s diary. There is definitely no meeting scheduled with former member of the MK Jabulani Khumalo tomorrow. And there is definitely no room for love back,” she said on X.
