Cape Town – President Cyril Ramaphosa and former president Jacob Zuma were spotted laughing and shaking hands at the ANC National Elective Conference in Nasrec on Friday.
The video of the two was recently shared on social media showing them casually chatting and laughing while wearing their party colours.
The light moment between the two came shortly after Zuma initiated a private prosecution of Ramaphosa.
Zuma announced on Thursday that he was suing Ramaphosa over a leaked medical report linked to a 1990s arms corruption trial.
The announcement came as the ruling African National Congress kicked off a conference on Friday that was expected to re-elect as its party leader Ramaphosa, who was embroiled in the Phala Phala Saga.

Zuma launched private prosecution proceedings on Thursday against Ramaphosa, accusing him of being an alleged “accessory” in the leaking of a confidential medical document about Zuma to the media.
However, Ramaphosa “rejects with the utmost contempt… Zuma’s abuse of legal processes and perversion”, the president’s office said.
The president’s office dismissed Zuma’s accusations as “spurious and unfounded”.
