Cape Town – A cash-in-transit (CIT) heist on the N2 highway near Durban during peak morning traffic reportedly left security officials and bystanders wounded.
Video footage showed motorists reversing to escape the gunfire, while others were stuck in traffic.

According to Times Live, the incident occurred around 6:25 AM, with paramedics treating multiple casualties at the scene.
“Multiple casualties are being attended to on scene, both security officials and bystanders were caught in this crossfire,” IOL quoted ALS Paramedics Garrith Jamieson as saying.
Reports indicate that a vehicle overturned, injuring several security guards.
Durban metro police have closed the affected section of the highway and urged motorists to use alternative routes.
