Cape Town – At least 27 people who, were part of mourners at a funeral in Pionierspark cemetery in Namibia, were arrested after they were filmed spinning cars and shooting in the air.
A video of the startling incident was shared on social media on Sunday, as friends and relatives paid tribute to the deceased, Valdo Lee Namaseb, who was an elite member of the community.
He died on June 27.

According to The Namibian, firing shots in the air was part of the burial ceremony.

Police said the mourners failed to adhere to Covid-19 regulations on public gatherings.
A BBC report said the suspects were expected to appear in court on Monday, July 5.
Namibia recently tightened Covid-19 restrictions, as infections in the southern African country continued to rise.
