Cape Town – A five-year-old Durban grade 1 pupil who went missing after taking the wrong taxi on the first day of school has been found.
Lindokuhle, a first-time pupil at Sydenham Primary School, got into the incorrect taxi when school dismissed early due to severe weather warnings.
According to Times Live, the mother, Olwethu Ntsethe, had visited three police stations in search of her son before opening a missing person case.
Lindokuhle was eventually located at Sydenham Primary School, and his mother expressed relief.
“We are here at the school. The child was here this morning. I cannot give any more details at this moment as we just got here,” the report quoted the mother as saying.
Cape Town – A Grade R learner in KwaZulu-Natal has reportedly gone missing after taking the wrong taxi home on the first day of school.
The KwaZulu-Natal Education Department has alerted the public about the incident, saying that the student, named Lindokuhle, from Sydenham Primary School, went home in the wrong taxi around 1 pm and has not been located, The Citizen reported.
“A learner from Sydenham Primary School named Lindokuhle of Grade R went home in the wrong taxi around 1pm. He lives on Kennedy Road. No news as yet,” shared journalist Nivashni Nair Sukdhev on social media.
“Mum has gone to Sydenham police station as well as to Mayville and Cato Manor. No news of his whereabouts as yet. If anyone has seen him or knows of his whereabouts, please contact Sydenham Police Station.”
The learner lives on Kennedy Road, and efforts to find him have been made by contacting Sydenham Police Station on 031 203 2707, as well as Lindokuhle’s mother’s: 061 451 1192.
