Cape Town – A 32-year-old mother, Shireen Essop, of Cape Town was reportedly found safe by Cape Town’s Klipfontein Neighbourhood Watch (KNW) on Saturday after she went missing on May 23.
According to IOL, on the day she went missing, Essop was driving home in her white Toyota.
The car was recovered but with no trace of her.
Without providing specific details, police confirmed Essop’s safe return, according to News24.
“This office can confirm that the missing Shireen Essop has been found and reunited with her family. The details of the matter are still the subject of the investigation,” said the Western Cape police spokesperson, Captain Frederick Van Wyk as quoted by the report.

Essop’s family thanked the public for their support during their difficult times.
“Words alone cannot express our heartfelt appreciation for being in your thoughts and in your hearts during these dark hours. Your support and continuous prayers have given us the strength to remain positive and hopeful that the Almighty will guide her safely back home to us. We ask that you continue to make duah (pray) for her for a full recovery.”the report quoted the family as saying in a statement.
The family has requested privacy.
