Cape Town – A security officer who is believed to have been the University of Fort Hare Vice-Chancellor Sakhele Buhlungu’s second bodyguard was reportedly killed over the weekend.
According to 702, the security officer was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Sunday morning.
The report said he was travelling on the R63 between Qonce and Alice when a vehicle collided with the vehicle he was in.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, the report said.
eNCA reported that the security office was a key witness in an upcoming fraud and corruption trial against the university employees.
Earlier this year, Buhlungu’s bodyguard was gunned down outside the vice-chancellor’s residence in what the university deemed as an attempt on his (Buhlungu’s) life, City Press reported.
