Cape Town – In an extraordinary and unexpected turn of events, Prudence Skhosana’s visit to KFC for breakfast at the Mall @ Moutsiya shopping centre in Mpumalanga reportedly took a surprising twist as she walked out not only with her meal but also with her newborn baby.
According to News24, a heavily pregnant Skhosana made her way to KFC on Tuesdy, hoping to enjoy a morning meal. Little did she know that her unborn son had other plans in mind.
While patiently waiting for her breakfast order, Skhosana suddenly experienced sharp pains in her abdomen and an urgent need to use the restroom. In a moment of urgency, she hurried to the restroom, unaware that this would be the setting for an unexpected birth.
“I experienced pain in my abdomen and felt the need to pee. I went to the toilet, my water broke, and I could feel that the baby was coming. I screamed for help because I did not know what to do,” the report quoted her as saying.

Panicked, she called for help, and Dorah Kotelo, the emergency service station manager at Philadelphia Hospital, happened to be nearby. Kotelo rushed to assist and realised it was a breech birth, with the baby presenting feet-first, the report said.
Kotelo skillfully turned the baby and safely delivered it before the ambulance arrived.
Both mother and newborn were then transported to Philadelphia Hospital.
Skhosana expressed her immense gratitude to Kotelo for her swift intervention, believing it was a stroke of luck that Kotelo was present at the mall.
