Cape Town – Two people have reportedly died following an explosion at a Cape Town eatery on the corner of Plein and Victoria Street on Thursday last week.
According to News24, the two men died in hospital on Saturday.
They were transported to Groote Schuur Hospital soon after the incident, with reports saying that they sustained almost 100% burn wounds, while the other had 70% burn wounds.

According to EWN, authorities said that an initial blast preceded the break out of the fire which was followed by several secondary explosions.
The cause of the explosion remained unknown.
Speaking to Newzroom Afrika, Mayoral committee member for safety and security, Alderman JP Smith said the entire area reverberated with the explosion.
“People on the scene described it as something from a movie or a scene of civil war with the cars outside,” he said.
