Cape Town – Two men reportedly died and another five were taken to hospital following an industrial accident at a farm in Klipheuwel, Western Cape on Sunday.
It was alleged that the men were working in a septic pit when they were overwhelmed by fumes.
According to ER24, the two men were extracted from the septic pit while another was found with breathing difficulties near the pit.
Two were declared dead at the scene, one was treated and transported to a nearby hospital, said ER24.
“Medics assessed the men and found that one man was suffering from minor breathing difficulties while the two other men showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the two men, and they were declared dead,

“The patient with breathing difficulties was treated and transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
It is understood that the three men were working in the septic pit when the fumes overcame them,” the report said.
Captain Frederick van Wyk confirmed that two men aged 33 and 34 died and five other were transported to hospital, reported The South African
According to the report police are investigating the incident and an autopsy would be conducted to determined the cause of death.
