Cape Town – Gauteng police have deployed a team of experienced detectives to track and arrest suspects involved in a violent incident in Soshanguve.
The suspects shot six people, killing two, and then burned a shack where two young girls, aged four and seven, were sleeping.
“Preliminary investigation suggests the suspects were after the father of the girls, who was not at home during the incident,” said police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo.
He said that gunmen arrived at a shebeen in the Changing Spot informal settlement in Soshanguve on Sunday evening and opened fire on the patrons, resulting in the deaths of a man and a woman, while four others were injured.
The suspects then set fire to the shack, where the two girls were found dead.
