Cape Town — South African Football Association (SAFA) boss, Danny Jordaan, has had the fraud and theft charges withdrawn against him.
Jordaan, along with his co-accused, Gronie Hluyo, appeared in the Pal Ridge Magistrate’s Court on Friday morning on several charges levelled against them. In total, there were seven charges against Jordaan and Kluyo, with charges five, six and seven relating to theft were withdrawn, EWN reported.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Phindi Mojonodwane said the law makes provision for the State to change the charge sheet as long as an accused person has not pleaded when the information becomes available or when the investigation uncovers certain information.
There are four charges of conspiracy to commit fraud, fraud and theft left against the pair.
The fraud case against SAFA boss Danny Jordaan has been postponed to August 15. He appeared in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court alongside his co-accused, Gronie Hluyo and Trevor Neethling. Newzroom Afrika’s @Benji_Sports speaks to NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane.
