Cape Town – Two Brazilian nationals were arrested on Sunday, 15 December, at OR Tambo International Airport for attempting to smuggle cocaine into South Africa.
According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amanda van Wyk, the suspects, aged 30 and 35, had just arrived from São Paulo, Brazil, when they were intercepted by police.
One of the traffickers was found with over 4kg of cocaine hidden in his luggage, while the other had swallowed multiple drug-filled “bullets”.
