Cape Town – Two traffic officers were seriously injured near Mooi River Toll Plaza on the N3 in KwaZulu-Natal after being struck by a taxi while on duty on Friday.
Midlands EMS responded to the accident, with both officers requiring urgent advanced life support treatment before being transported to a trauma hospital.
“Both were in serious condition and required urgent advanced life support treatment. After stabilisation, both patients were transported to a level 1 trauma hospital for further care,” Midlands EMS said.
One passenger in the taxi sustained minor injuries.
The incident occurred as the officers were directing traffic outside their vehicle.
Authorities are investigating the scene.
