Cape Town – Three suspects, who allegedly kidnapped a 26-year-old man and demanded a R30 000 ransom, remain in custody, as police continue the investigation.
In a statement, police said the victim was kidnapped in Thabong on July 19 and a case of kidnapping was registered.
Free State police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Thakeng said on July 24, information received from Crime Intelligence led to the arrest of the suspects.

“The arrested suspects are facing charges of kidnapping, assault GBH, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of unlicensed ammunition and contravention of the Immigration Act,” said Thakeng.
Relebohile Johannes Lebajoa, 20, Rethabile Lebajoa, 20 and Teboho Olifant, 26, appeared in Welkom Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and the case was postponed until September 06 for further investigation.
