Cape Town – Limpopo police are investigating the deaths of three males, aged 14 to 22, found dead in Morongoa Park, Ga-Mothiba, Polokwane.
The victims reportedly slept with fire coals in their room.
They were discovered motionless by their family on Friday morning, who then alerted the police and EMS.
Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the boys had taken a braai stand with fire coals to their bedroom the previous night.
“The following day, on Friday at about 5am, their family realised that the boys were motionless. They immediately activated the police and EMS personnel. The boys were certified dead at the scene,” Ledwaba said.
Limpopo police commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe warned about the dangers of using braziers indoors during winter.
Investigations are ongoing.
