Cape Town — Three 17-year-old Joburg boys are set to appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court after the alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl at a party all of them were attending.
The three boys – named Jerome, Dem and Sean – and the girl – Refilwe Mofokeng – were all attending a party in Midrand, Johannesburg where the boys proceeded to gang rape the girl. The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit attended to the victim immediately after the matter was reported to police on Monday afternoon, SABC News reported.
Police arrested one of the suspects at his residence in Johannesburg on Wednesday, while the other two handed themselves over to the police at Midrand police station, TimesLIVE said.
“The matter was reported to the police on Monday. The family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit attended to the victim. The police visited known addresses in efforts to trace the perpetrators to no avail,” said police spokesperson Lt-Col Mavela Masondo.
Information revealed by blogger, Musa Khawula, showed text messages between the boys saying Refilwe wanted to have sex with Jerome, but she had passed out and he hoped she would not remember the details of the rape.
Jerome details he only received head from Refilwe Mofokeng and Shaun referred to Flacko had sex with her without a condom. Dem posted an apology on his Instagram account on behalf of his friends
