‘This clown Advo is back…’ – Mzansi slams Teffo’s latest court stunt

Cape Town – Social media users have criticised disbarred advocate Malesela Teffo for his latest courtroom stunt that resulted in the delay of the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial on Tuesday.

Teffo, who used to represent four of the five accused standing trial, withdrew from the case as counsel before he was struck off the roll in September last year.

He reportedly walked into the Pretoria High Court and demanded to meet with presiding Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela in the chambers.

“We need to go into the chambers of the judge before this matter can commence,” TimesLIVE quoted Teffo as saying.

Mzansi took to social media, slamming Teffo for making the case about him and no longer about the justice deserved by the Meyiwa family.

However, during an interview on Power98.7, Teffo denied he forced his way into the court, saying that his appearance was planned.

“My appearance at the court was an agreement with the National Prosecution Authority,” Teffo was quoted saying.

Meyiwa was gunned down at singer Kelly Khumalo’s home in Vosloorus, Gauteng on the evening of October 26, 2014.

Six years later, in 2020, Muzikawukhulelwa S’Tembu Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Ziphozonke Maphisa, and Fisokuhle Ntuli were arrested.

The men were charged with murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
