Cape Town – The moment the pastor says, “you may now kiss the bride” to a newly married couple, is often a beautiful one, but this wasn’t the case for this couple.
“Has to be a skit oo because this cannot be real,” one user tweeted after watching a video in which a groom openly slaps his bride after she refused to kiss him on their wedding day.
The video captioned, “Groom slaps bride for not kissing him” was uploaded to Twitter by @yabaleftonline and contains background music that matches the tone of the occasion but does not necessarily match the actions of the groom.
The music may have hidden the gasps of those in attendance after witnessing the bride subtly refusing to kiss the groom and the groom reacting by slapping her and continuing as if nothing had happened.

Twitter reacted with shock and sadness.
One tweep showed great concern for the future of the bride as a wife saying, “If he could do that in front of people imagine what he would be doing when they’re alone omo.”
“This had better be a prank cos if na my sister, the groom go don receive flying nodding with left hand uppercut,” wrote another tweep.
“Wtf,” tweeted one user in shock at what she had just witnessed.
“This has to be staged coz if it isn’t…the marriage is more or less over,” wrote @_davyben.
“I dare anyone to do this to my sister or any of my relatives at her wedding. I just hope they come prepared! Because…” wrote another.
