Cape Town – The Thabo Mbeki Foundation has refuted false reports circulating on social media claiming the death of its patron, former president Thabo Mbeki.
The foundation said that Mbeki is in good health and emphasised the need for cautious and responsible engagement with online information, especially during a time when misinformation can quickly spread.
“We categorically deny these reports and wish to assure the public that president Mbeki is in good health,” the foundation said in a statement.
It added: “We urge caution and responsible engagement with online information, particularly during a time when misinformation can spread rapidly.”
