Cape Town – Eight people were left injured when a minibus taxi plunged into a group of pedestrians after veering off the road on Wednesday.
In a statement, Emer-G-Med paramedics said the incident occurred, on Felix Dlamini Road in the Overport area, Durban.
“Reports from the scene are that a minibus taxi veered off the roadway at high speed, running over eight pedestrians before smashing through a brick wall,” the statement read.
The statement said one person sustained critical injuries and was treated and stabilised at the scene by Emergency Care Practitioners and rushed to a nearby hospital.
In a separate incident on the same day, Emer-G-Med paramedics attended to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of the R40 and Samora Machel Road.
