Cape Town – The body of Durban’s missing biker was found on Monday morning by a medical rescue team.
Ryan Leach reportedly fell from his motorbike in the Glendale area near KwaDukuza on Sunday afternoon, said IPSS Medical Rescue in a statement.
Local riders, including a member of IPSS Medical SAR searched the difficult terrain on bikes, however, only Leach’s bike was found.
“START Rescue K9 units were activated to the area, and a drone with thermal imaging was brought out by DC Geomatics to assist with the search,” the statement said.
The search was placed on pause due to the weather and continued on Monday morning.
“Early this morning, Ryan was located by volunteers and his body has been recovered by IPSS Medical, and are awaiting assistance by the SAPS helicopter,” read the statement.
Social media users expressed their sadness and sent their condolences to the family
“My heart is broken for this beautiful family. Ride well with the angels forever Ryan.” read one comment while another comment said “Such tragic news. Deepest condolences to his family and friends, may he rest in peace,”
